Chances are, you've never seen one of these in person, let alone play it. You may have heard one though, Jon Herrington from Steely Dan plays one. What's so special about the Guytron GT 100? Well, it has two power sections. It's like you have a small EL84 powered amp that feeds a larger EL34 amp, so you can get cranked tones with ease and control power tube dynamics without having to deafen your neighbors. Check out this back pic of the GT 100 head profiled on this page:
Count the tubes - there are seven 12ax7 preamp tubes, a pair OF EL84s (the taller ones near the preamp tubes) and four EL34s. Also four transformers - one power, one output for the EL34s and one output each for the 84s. This amp is rare, super cool and sounds great!
Here are a few reviews of this rare and cool amp -
Bought channel A and it sounds very good! chears! a other bunch of very good profiles added to the stock

I bought this for the clean sound and man am I happy. Very sweet cleans with zero gain. Even tried the shadow pickup in my Epiphone Les Paul. Nice acoustic sound. Will look at the profiles with gain once I can pull myself away from the clean sound.
Same client, about a month later...
Even though I only have 60 profiles on my Kemper, I 'lost' the Guytron profiles among them. I rediscovered them yesterday and now remember why I liked them when I first bought them. I still like the clean sound, but seem to be gravitating more toward the crunch sound. Very good work Pete. Thanks.

Guytron Channel A profiles
20 profiles of the 1997 Guytron GT 100 rev B channel A. Profiles created through a selection of four different microphones (MXL ribbon, Heil PR20, Vintage unidyne III SM57, and Audix i5) running into a Focusrite ISA One analog preamp. Cabinet used was a matching Guytron closed back 2x12 running a combination of Vintage 30 and 75 watt celestion speakers.
Guytron Channel B profiles
20 1997 Guytron GT 100 Channel B profiles. These are higher gain than the Channel A profiles and are great for thick dirty rhythms or leads. Same microphones and cab as Channel A profiles but each microphone was moved to suit the tonal differences in Channel B - each profile had it's own amp setting also. Five profiles of each microphone - MXL ribbon, Audix i5, Heil PR20 and Shure Unidyne III SM57. Cabinet was a matching Guytone 2x12 running a Vintage 30 and a 75 watt celestion.
