Tone Matching
Here's a quick overview of the tone match profiles contained in this website and how they are created. First, a tone match profile recreates a noteworthy guitar tone. Of course, all tones matched are not endorsed by the original artists, and are an a homage to the originals - these were not used by the original artists in any way shape or form.
with that in mind...
There are several ways to go about matching a tone. I use a variety of methods, some of which I will keep to myself, but the major ones are having the right gear in the first place, a good ear for matching and also the use of software. Be aware also that if you have a different guitar than what was used, your results may vary and you may need to adjust your kemper settings slightly anyways - but these should get you well in the ballpark. For example, if you're trying to get a brown sound, a telecaster wouldn't be a good choice. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
