Tone Match Set IV - Metallica
I can still remember the first time I tried to get a Metallica tone - I turned the mids all the way down on my amp, raised the bass and treble, cranked it and basked in the glory of awesome tone!
...well, sort of. Turns out when you do that with most amps, it sounds glorious on it's own, but start playing with a band and you can't hear yourself. All your low end gets covered by your bass player, and your high end gets swallowed by percussion. So it's not that simple.
So, here are eight Metallica tone matches. Each is individual and distinctive, if it was just a scoop thing like I used to think, they all would sound alike. Each was carefully and painstakingly recreated in the Kemper. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
