THD Univalve 6L6 power tube
Here are profiles of a THD UniValve amp. It uses one power tube, so it's a single ended Class A tube amp and can use many different power tubes - 6L6s, EL34s, 6V6s, 5881s, KT88, KT90, and more. They are one channel, with a built in hot plate power attenuator even though they only run between 3 and 15 watts. They even have a built in variac with the 'low voltage' and 'high voltage' switch.
Profiles in this set are of both channels - the lower gain 'Roll' channel and the higher gain 'Rock'. Some feature the Low voltage setting, some are High Voltage. None were taken with the hot plate on - all are with the amp cranked, and with a 6L6 power tube.
Cabinet used was a 1972 stock Marshall.
There are seven basic settings (with images) and 6 sets of microphones per setting, giving a total of 42 profiles. Microphones used were:
Heil PR20
MXL144 Ribbon / Focusrite ISA One preamp
Shure SM57
Shure SM77
Sennheiser e609 silver
Audix i5
On the clip below, there are four guitars using four different Univalve profiles with the same guitar - a Tom Anderson drop top.
First clean guitar that comes in is profile Univalve 6L6 03 Rbn - split neck pickup
Second guitar that's dirty that fades in is 02 Rbn - bridge humbucker
First solo is 05 sm57 - bridge humbucker
Second solo is 06 pr20 - neck and middle single coil then bridge humbucker

How about a few Univalve profile reviews from folks who purchased these profiles?
After playing for a few hours I really like the mid to high gain profiles with the humble sm57. For cleaner profiles, my favorites are the ribbon or the 77 (depending on the guitar).
The response is very true to how I remember the Univalve I used for awhile. It's a unique tone that I really like. It's best characteristic transfers fantastically in the profiles - the amps clean up with the guitar volume. One of all the THD's amp models best aspects imo.
I like the way you organize your packs. Sorting the "Last Imported" by gain makes it really obvious which mic's work for your guitar/style/rig at any gain stage. Took 2hrs of (enjoyable) playing and tinkering, but by doing this I was able to cull the 40+ included profiles down to 9 and promptly tagged those as favorites. I'm trying to keep my total profiles to some reasonable # these days!
Is a very well profiled THD Univalve (with an impressively varied mic selection) worth $10? .. .. Hell yes! :)

Hi Pete, these are great. I've always been a fan of the Univalve. Very tasty.
