blueface diezel vh4 half stack - amp built for slayer
Many of us will never get to play one of these in person - they are very expensive and rare. Artists like Metallica, Tool, Slayer and others use them for sonic mayhem. Now it's your turn.
The model I have profiled is a 2011 Blueface reissue, with one other interesting trait - it was built for Slayer! This amp really is a lot more versatile than you'd think, as the four channels each have a very individual sound - it's more like four amps in one than an amp with four levels of gain. The matching Diezel 4x12 front loaded cab was used for the profile sets.
Channel one goes from Fender clean to hiwatt crunch.
Channel two is a marshally channel, tops out gain-wise around stock JCM800 single channel amps.
Channel three does the modded marshall thing very well. Tons of gain and some compression.
Channel four - pretty much the most gain in any production amp I've played. But it's useable gain, and it compresses wonderfully for solos and ease of playing. Still maintains note seperation though, and is amazingly quiet for how much gain it puts out.
Each set has five different microphones - Audix i5, Telefunken M81, Heil PR20, a Vintage USA Unidyne III/SM57, and an MXL Ribbon mic into a Focusrite ISA One preamp. Four different amp settings too, each of which is detailed in a file included with each profile set so you can 'see' what the settings were. This gives a total of 20 different profiles per channel.
All channels are available individually or as a bundle that also includes 10 bonus profiles - some of which were taken with a first year Mesa Rectifier oversized armored cab.

Demo notes - used the same guitar I profiled the Diezel on all clips - a Tom Anderson drop top. So all profiles are 'GTM' ready. Bass guitar for all tracks was a mid 80s Japanese Charvel, through Sansamp Bass profiles I created. Drums are Steven Slate Drum samples, and were from Midi tracks I either downloaded and modified or made from scratch. Any effects like reverb and delay and chorus in the clean demo were done in the DAW not the Kemper so i had a little more control over the mix. I did not compress the guitar tracks or change the EQ however.
Almost ready to purchase? How about some reviews/comments from people who own this profile set?

Those profiles are unbelievable.

+1 - I am so totally in agreement with you here! I have other VH4 profiles including those that Andy did (which are great BTW) but those from Pete are hands down my favorites for the VH4 sound i am looking for.
Awesome VH4 profiles Pete. I used to own one (may I never have to ship an amp that big again!), and your profiles nail it on all channels.
Bought the 3rd channel profiles and like them alot. This amp is truly brutal.
These profiles rock!!! I have no idea how a VH4 is supposed to sound as I have never played the real thing but these profiles rock!
